What is ESPR?

ESPR (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781) establishes sustainability requirements throughout the entire lifecycle of products, from design to end-of-life. This regulation mandates that products be more durable, repairable, remanufacturable, recyclable, and energy-efficient.

Who Does It Affect?

  • Manufacturers and Importers: All companies offering products to the EU market
  • Authorized Representatives: EU representatives of non-EU manufacturers
  • Distributors: Responsible for ensuring compliant products are placed on the market
  • Suppliers: Required to provide material and component information

Compliance Steps

1

Product Category Check

Check if your product falls under ESPR scope. Textiles, electronics, furniture, steel are priority categories.

2

Sustainability Parameters

Measure and document parameters like durability, repairability, recyclability, energy efficiency, and hazardous substances.

3

Digital Product Passport

Create DPP for each product and make it accessible via QR code/NFC. DPP is a fundamental component of ESPR compliance.

4

Supply Chain Traceability

Track all raw material sources and production processes digitally. Tier-1 and tier-2 supplier information is required.

5

Periodic Reporting

Report your compliance status regularly and keep necessary certificates up to date. Pronize provides automated reporting.

Mandatory Sustainability Criteria

🔧 Repairability

Availability of spare parts for 7-10 years

♻️ Recyclability

Minimum 65% recyclable material usage

Energy Efficiency

Energy consumption below specific thresholds

⚠️ Hazardous Substances

REACH and RoHS compliance is mandatory
